FAQ
How does SmartSort AI sort my collections?
SmartSort AI sets the collection to Shopify’s manual sort order and moves products into position through the Shopify Admin API, exactly like dragging products in your Shopify admin, only automatic. Your theme shows the new order right away, with no theme code to edit.
Will SmartSort AI work with my theme?
Yes. Every Shopify theme shows a collection in the collection’s sort order by default, which is the order SmartSort AI sets. If a shopper picks another option from your theme’s “Sort by” menu, they see that order instead.
Does it work with automated (smart) collections?
Yes. Shopify decides which products belong to an automated collection; SmartSort AI decides the order they appear in. Manual and automated collections are both supported.
How often are collections re-sorted?
Daily at a set time in your store’s time zone, every 12 hours on Growth or every 4 hours on Pro. From Growth, collections can also re-sort in real time when products sell out or new products are added, and you can always re-sort on demand.
Can I preview the result or undo a sort?
Yes. Preview shows the current and new order side by side before you save. Every sort is logged, a recent sort can be undone in one click, and you can restore a collection’s original Shopify sort order at any time.
Does SmartSort AI handle large catalogs?
Yes. It imports your catalog with Shopify’s bulk operations and is built for stores with 100,000+ products. When it re-sorts, it only moves the products whose position actually changes.
Does SmartSort AI store customer data?
No. Sales-based sorting uses order line items only (product, quantity, revenue and order status), never names, emails or addresses. The optional storefront pixel sends anonymous product and collection ids.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan sorts up to 3 collections in stores with up to 250 products, re-sorting daily with all 22 sort orders. Paid plans start at $19.99/month with a 14-day free trial.
